My passion for sound started in middle school while recording really terrible hip-hop using Acid Loops and the built-in microphone on my computer. It continued into high school when I found a used Tascam Portastudio at a local guitar shop for $120.
In college, my love for podcasts led to me working in radio as a board operator. My transition into working on film sets happened on accident. I met a local Sound Mixer for coffee–not knowing what a Sound Mixer was–and a few weeks later he hired me as the boom operator for a short film.
Working on set is my favorite thing to do, but I’ve spent most of my career in the studio. From 2015-2016, I worked full-time recording voice actors and doing sound design for cartoons at Sparkhouse in Downtown Minneapolis.
Lately I’ve been taking my career to the next level by joining IATSE Local 52 as a Boom Operator.
